Thursday Night Fly Tying Night...Bloom's Parachute Caddis by Dave Bloom

Bloom's Parachute Caddis

Hook: Standard Dry Fly, sizes 12-18
Thread: Tan 8/0 or 70 denier
Body: Pheasant Tail Fibers
Rib: Tan thread
Thorax: Natural Hare's Ear Dubbing
Parachute Pink Polypropylene or Widow's Web
Hackle: Barred Ginger or Cree

This has become my #1 caddis dry pattern hands down! This fly sits low in the surface film while maintaining excellent buoyancy and visibility. It can be tied in a variety of colors, but the I've found the recipe above to be my go-to combo in SW Montana.

This will be a great pattern to build on what we learned last week with the Parachute Adams.
