There’s hardly a fly angler that hasn’t fished the Parachute Adams or a very similar pattern. It is a variation of the Adams, which was designed in the 1920’s in Michigan. The Parachute style allows the fly to sit lower in the surface film and its post makes it more visible to the angler. Ask any angler what their top flies are and this will most likely be at the top of most lists!
Here’s a video of the Parachute Adams being tied with calf hair.
